CohoesFest in the Historic Cohoes Music Hall Friday January 29 at 7:00 PM A Tribute to our past with song and dance. A Celebration of hope for our future. A Fundraising Variety Show Sponsored by Vineyard Community Church
This is a fundraiser for the restoration of the old Methodist church building at 121 Remsen Street, the new home of Vineyard Community Church. This impressive building, with its unique four cornered steeple, is a prominent feature of the historic downtown Cohoes skyline.
It was built in 1860, making it 150 years old in 2010. The Vineyard purchased the building in 2009 and has applied for NYS grants to completely restore the exterior of the building to its original glory (a $250,000 project). Come help be part of the renaissance of Cohoes! All funds raised will be used to pay the Vineyard’s portion of the matching NYS grant for the restoration of this spectacular building that sits in the heart of the downtown business district.
Our headliners for the evening will be Frank Jaklitsch and Friends, a popular local Irish folk singer. We will also be celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of Cohoes with performances by traditional local Irish and Polish dance groups, along with modern dance and even some gospel music!
Admission to this unique Cohoes Music Hall event is $10, but several local businesses are supporting the event, providing 200 FREE tickets for anyone who cannot afford to attend.
